Whats happening with my sport.

I thought I would do a post just letting you know whats happening in my sport.

Well tomorrow Grace and I play our second last game of hockey. (If you didn't understand that, our next game is our last.
Our hockey season hasn't been the best, but it's been a lot of fun.

That's a photo of Brent Livermore. He plays for Australia, and he comes from where I live.

On Sunday, Grace and I have another cricket trial. We're hoping to get into a girls U/14s rep side, which will be representing our area in a comp they call the "Country Championship". If we get in and do well at that, we will then go on to play "The City". I think that's how it will run, I'm sure.

The local cricket season starts in about a month. I'm playing U/14s. They will be mixed teams. (Boys and Girls).
I might even be playing U/12s, because my little brother wants to play cricket, though he doesn't want to play by himself.

Last but not least, we start sailing again!!! Last year we started sailing, but it was a very short season for us because we went on holidays. Sailing is on Saturday afternoons. I'm really looking forward to learning how to sail.

This is the type of boat I'll be sailing.

Now you know what iI'm up to in my sport.

Cricket Trial

On Sunday Grace and I are going to a cricket trial in a town over two hours away. The trial is for a regional girls cricket team. I am looking forward to it. I think Grace and I have a even chance on getting through (I hope!!), although I'm trying not to get my expectations up to high.

Wish us luck!!

Cricket

Grace and I play cricket as a summer sport. We played last year, and our team was hopeless. We only won one game. We have a better team this year though. We play in the u/12s age group.

Each game goes for two weeks, each team gets a 40 over innings. We have twenty over innings each Saturday. Our neighbour plays on our team and his dad coaches the team.

Another rule in the u/12s cricket is you need to retire in the first innings to be able to bat in the second innings.(Unless you don't get a bat in the first innings)  You either have to get 25 runs or bat for 10 overs to retire. I have retired in every game. I have only taken two wickets this season, but I'm not a bad blower.

Australia has good cricket team too, one of the best in  the world.

Hockey

I play hokey for a winter sport along with my twin sister. We both play on the same team. We play on a girls only team. We play with a public school. The girls on the team are really nice.

I have been captain twice and so has my twin sister. I have only scored one goal in the whole season, though my twin sister has scored three. I play a half and my twin sister either plays a wing or a inner.

I play field hockey. This season is my first hockey season and from what I have heard I am doing pretty well. This week is the semi finals, and if we win we go straight through to the grand final. Our team is second on the ladder. The team we are versing are on top of the ladder.

Hockey, I find, is a very fast game, each half is twenty-five minutes and we get about a four minute brake.

If we make it to the grand final I will let you all know.
